We had Eleonora come to stay from Lund...

... over the Walpurgis weekend, which was absolutely lovely. Admittedly, we had to share her with a bunch of friends, but we still managed to give the little one a few hugs and cuddles before she boarded the train back to her little student room.

Unfortunately, photography isn’t always the most popular activity.

Over the Walpurgis weekend, I took the opportunity to listen to quite a few audiobooks.

A book I can highly recommend is Uprooted by Naomi Novak – for anyone who enjoys fantasy and fairy tales. I’d never heard of her before, but Fredrik gave me the book for Christmas.

She writes – in my opinion – absolutely brilliantly, and her characters are anything but flat and one-dimensional.

On 1 May, we celebrated Dad’s 83rd birthday.

His wish was to cook a stew over an open fire, so we took the opportunity to light a small fire at our home in Västbacka.

The aroma of the meat stew with potatoes wafted through the air, making our mouths water.

On top of that, he’d wished for fine weather, and he got it in spades. The sun was shining and there wasn’t a single cloud in the light blue sky.

Around lunchtime, it was so warm that the gang changed into summer clothes.

Whilst the meat was simmering, Fredrik and Emma pottered about in the garden, whilst Elias and Clara sat on the slope peeling potatoes.

It’s never too early to start with child labour.

Dad’s third wish was a game of kubb.

Things went smoothly for a while until our big old Maine Coon, Aslan, decided to lie flat out in front of the blocks.

Not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
