"Philosophy has long paid minimal attention to creativity, and even with the rise of research on imagination, the creative imagination has still largely been ignored. The aim of this Oxford Handbook is to correct this neglect. By bringing together research from various sub-disciplines, the contributors explore recent emerging topics and open up new avenues of research in the philosophy of imagination and creativity. The 37 chapters provide state of the art treatments of a variety of subjects at the intersection of imagination and creativity. The volume opens with a comprehensive editors' introduction providing an overview of issues covered in the volume. The chapters in Part I provides framing and historical context for the philosophical study of imagination and creativity, along with an overview of the empirical literature."

Two sick cats
Getting old isn’t always fun.
Mozart was born in 2012 (14 years old) and Aslan in 2013 (13 years old) – they used to be full of energy, but in recent years both have become increasingly frail.
Mozart’s hyperthyroidism is affecting him terribly, despite the fact that he takes medication whose dose has increased over the years.
It turns out that more than 9% of all cats who have passed the ten-year mark are affected by a (probably) benign tumour that takes hold in the thyroid gland.
Mozart is constantly hungry and beats even the most persistent dogs when it comes to begging, and despite being given more food than usual, he refuses to put on weight.
Aslan, our Maine Coon, on the other hand, suffers from constant eye problems. This spring he’s already been on three courses of antibiotics and we have an appointment at SLU to see if there’s any underlying condition.
His eyes have actually sunk in slightly… which isn’t a good sign.
It’s heartbreaking to see the furry little ones in pain.
Mission: to pick up a tired Eleonora from Lund
Adrian had to act as a nurse whilst we whizzed down to Lund over the weekend, stopping off in Linköping to visit Fredrik’s grandfather.
I’ve also had the pleasure of discovering this book:
"Philosophy has long paid minimal attention to creativity, and even with the rise of research on imagination, the creative imagination has still largely been ignored. The aim of this Oxford Handbook is to correct this neglect. By bringing together research from various sub-disciplines, the contributors explore recent emerging topics and open up new avenues of research in the philosophy of imagination and creativity. The volume opens with a comprehensive editors’ introduction providing an overview of the issues covered in the volume. The chapters in Part I provide a framework and historical context for the philosophical study of imagination and creativity, along with an overview of the empirical literature.”
With our minds full of the importance of imagination for education and society, we happened to end up next to the Cliff Burton Museum and a shop that must attract hordes of tourists who love moose in all their forms.
Clifford Lee Burton was born in 1962 and died as early as 1986 in a car accident near the site of the museum. After a bit of Googling (my general knowledge is poor), I discovered he was an American bassist and musician in the heavy metal band Metallica.
Clearly, there are people who know who he is, and Lee Burton still seems to be popular.
During our brief time there whilst the Molly car was having a ‘lunch break’, a busload of tourists arrived in studded jackets, leather boots, spiky hair and kohl around their eyes. Fredrik noted that it was a group of Hungarian heavy metal fans...
...they had travelled a long way to see this place...
We didn’t spend much time in Lund this time. After dinner with Eleo, we sat for a long time relaxing in the rooftop bar as the sun went down.
And no trip home is complete without a stop at Brahe House. I don’t know how many photos we have from that spot – you can follow our ageing process.
Eleonora’s gaze: photos taken without the subjects knowing
Whilst I have a fondness for photos that are shaped in dialogue with their surroundings, Eleonora’s strategy is to take lots of photos without people realising. Her reasoning is that it’s more fun – sort of like ‘a good laugh prolongs life’ – and that the best pictures emerge most naturally from spontaneity.
Whatever the case, it was fascinating to follow her vision.
And she’s a clever little squirrel. You couldn’t even tell she was taking photos...
Eleonora: “It looked a bit dodgy, like a creepy old lady lurking in the bushes taking photos of children.”
